Bōku

Bōku is a mind game which is played on a hexagonal board. On these pages you can find out more about Bōku, its rules, its history, and, of course, you can play Bōku against the computer.

This website is based on the results of the MSc Computing Science project Implementing and optimising two-person deterministic zero-sum perfect information games using Bōku as an example, School of Computer Science and Information Systems, Birkbeck College, University of London, 2003.

The original program code was written in Java and designed to run as a Java applet within a web browser. Since Java plugins were removed from web browsers for security reasons, I have finally revisited the old Program code and ported it with lots of adjustments to JavaScript.
